10 Things to Put on Your Digital Business Card

A digital business card has room for much more than a paper one, but more is not always better. The goal is simple: someone who opens your card should understand who you are and be able to contact you or buy from you within seconds. Here is a checklist that works for most businesses.

The essentials

  • 1. A clear photo or logo. People trust a face or a recognisable brand. Use good light and a plain background.
  • 2. Your name and one-line title. For example, "Interior designer for homes and cafés" says more than "Designer".
  • 3. Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons. These are usually the most-used buttons on the page.
  • 4. Email and website. Add them even if you mostly use WhatsApp — some clients prefer email.
  • 5. Location with a map link. Essential for shops, clinics, salons and offices.

Things that build trust

  • 6. A short about section. Two or three sentences on what you do and who you help.
  • 7. Photos of real work. A small gallery of projects, products or your premises.
  • 8. Social profiles you actually update. An inactive account can do more harm than good.

Things that bring in business

  • 9. Products or services with prices. Even a starting price saves a lot of back-and-forth.
  • 10. An enquiry form. Visitors can leave their name and message on the card, so a lead does not depend on them remembering to contact you later.

What to leave off

  • Old phone numbers or emails you no longer check.
  • Long paragraphs — keep text short and scannable on a phone.
  • Too many links. Pick the five or six that matter most.

All of these sections are built into Tapmysite. Browse the templates to see how they look, then start your card.
